Camilla Fire & Rescue
It was a rainy, sultry day here on Indian Rocks Beach, but for Fire Chief Dave Irwin and two of his members from Camilla, Georgia fire and emergency services, it was like waking up Christmas morning to find your wish come true.
Rather than auctioning our rescue vehicle to the highest bidder, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue District found it in their hearts to donate this vehicle to these fine people from Camilla, who are trying to improve their method of delivering emergency services to their community. The District also provided them with excess hose that had outlived its service life here, but could increase service delivery in their community.
Prior to their leaving, they shared ideas regarding vehicle enhancement modifications, based on a partnership they have with private industry.
We look forward to following the progress of our northern neighbor’s newly acquired vehicle, their people and community.
